Seeking new ways to tap into your alumni network and create unique opportunities for your students? Look no further—Alumni Hub centralizes actionable data on employer users who attended your institution. From curating mentorship programs to tailored info sessions to job shadowing opportunities, there are endless ways you can use Alumni Hub. Let’s dig deeper into how you can easily leverage the hub today!
But first, why is Alumni Hub important?
The trending currency of social capital is digital networking. With virtual connections so readily accessible, students are tapped into an always-on network of opportunities.
Our latest Handshake Network Trends report showed that 80% of Gen Z job seekers believe digital connections sparked by messages will lead to a job opportunity. Meanwhile 92% said they would offer to help a younger person from their institution with career advice—there’s an overwhelming desire from graduates to support younger students.
That said, only 15% of students reported establishing connections with alumni themselves. Alumni Hub is a great asset career services can use to bridge this gap by fostering professional relationships between students and alumni.
So, how does it work?
All employers are prompted to list their alma mater when they sign up on Handshake. We took that data and aggregated it in Alumni Hub. Now, you can easily:
- Send emails to alumni
- Apply and filter alumni by school-specific labels
- Download a CSV file of key alumni data
- Sort alumni by most recently active
- Identify alumni at companies you haven’t approved yet
- Filter alumni by recruiting activity, industry, location, recruiting interest, and more
For a demonstration of how to get the most out of this new feature, review our recent Alumni Hub training webinar.
