Discovering your career, Handshake student stories

Opening Doors: Finding that perfect role

Stanford University graduate, Hannah Llorin, shares how Handshake opened doors in her career.

We spoke to real college students about how Handshake helped them open doors in their careers. Read and follow along in this five-part series.

Meet Hannah, a recent Stanford University graduate. She spoke with a recruiter on Handshake by using the messaging feature and made a great revelation about her career path. By having that connection, she realized that she wanted to become a genetic counselor and has since followed that dream into fruition.

The result of the door being opening for me was that I was able to find a career that really inspired and invigorated me. I don’t think I would have found genetic counseling without this chance encounter that happened because of Handshake. And I’m really grateful that I was connected through Handshake to this recruiter and this recruiting event that allowed me to learn about the career that I’m now pursuing.
